Ten Fruits a Day Challenge

Being Fruitarian, it’s not really a challenge to eat some fruits every day. But what about when you’re first starting out?

Are you trying to lose weight, manage unbearable symptoms like pain, or cut down on your medications? You might just want to eat more fruits.

This whole website is about detoxing using fruit and herbs to allow the body to clean itself, so get ready to get FRUITY!

Examples of eating ten fruits a day:

  • Bowl of watermelon (2 servings), 2 glasses of orange juice, 3 bananas, 2 apples, blueberries.
  • 3 bananas, 2 apples, 3 oranges, and 1 pound of grapes (2 servings).
  • 2 cups of coconut water, 3 bananas, 2 oranges, 2 apples, raisins.

You can obviously make smoothies, but it’s best to keep fruits alone for fruit only meals. It’s better for digestion, so resist the urge to throw protein/fats/veggies into the smoothie while you’re starting out. You can still eat other foods, but with this kind of detox system, you  
will just eat less of them naturally.    

You will likely feel better, maybe even get some spiritual moments and intuition and synchronicities happening as you clean yourself from the inside out.

Life becomes much more joyous, and you will have more free time because you aren’t rushing to prepare complex meals. Relaxation can actually take place! Children LOVE fruit in most cases, and adults who usually thought of fruit as dessert will rejoice that they are allowed to EAT it!

Be the one that calls the shots, be the one that asks the questions and continues the growth.  Be the one to fulfill yourself, and your own daily needs and self care.  Be the one who can focus so well and so much that Health just makes it’s way TO you.  In whatever form you are able to allow it in.

You see, The Law of Attraction can only bring you what you are thinking about.  If it is sickness, disease, disbelief (about diagnosis), complaining about life, or just negativity, I guarantee that is what your life will continue to look like.  But, if you can focus instead on creating health, even a little at a time, you can change your life around!

What if you were to begin thinking of new ideas, possibilities, movement, and ease of your body?  Would that maybe change the results you are getting?

Maybe then you would allow the right ideas to flow to you.  Maybe when your own mood is really good, you will get the idea to eat something specific, and when you do, you will feel even better.  And if you do this many times, you will be healing yourself.

Lymph in the News

I was thrilled to read this article about how doctors are finally realizing that the lymph system exists and that it is in fact what is in between just about everything in the body!

Interstitial fluid is the fluid surrounding cells, and it’s now being studied more as the reason so many cancer patients have cancers that migrate.  Some believe this fluid explains why cancer moves.

Either way, we should understand how our lymphatic system is like our toilet flushing!  Dr. Morse, ND says that all cells eat and and create waste.  But where does the waste go?

Into the lymph system!!  How do you know if your lymph system is working well?

You are healthy and feeling well in every way.

If you are experiencing ANY (allergies, skin problems, mucous, PMS, erectile dysfunction, stomach, heart, colon, lung, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, thyroid, adrenal, reproductive, brain, memory, injury, etc…) symptoms, you need to detox.  The lymph system is backed up, like a toilet, and that is what is creating those symptoms.  Dr. Morse often calls it inflammation or acidosis, but if your toilet isn’t flushing, you’ve got a problem.

I’m here to help you with your program.  Those who are trained detox specialists have known for decades that the lymph must become alkaline in order to heal the rest of the body, and you can do this methodically and easily, gradually or quickly.

Healing takes time, and a good amount of effort, but it’s well worth it.  Your body will so much happier as you take the time to care about it.

Grape Juice Fasting

Wondering about grape juice fasting?  I was led to find out about juice fasting when I had some gall bladder issues, and I am so fortunate that someone told me about it.  I was thrilled to find that juice fasting worked well, because I literally couldn’t eat anything at the time.  Water fasting has worked for many, but it wasn’t as safe for me because I’ve been a type 1 diabetic since I was a teen.  I’d always wanted to water fast, and soon found a good reason–my gallbladder–and I was “forced’ to fast.

Over a period of months, I went from having gallbladder pain all day, to having no pain whatsoever now.  Just from adding a lot of fruit to my diet, dry fasting, juice fasting, and grape juice fasting for portions of the day, and sometimes for days at a time, and using healing herbs to help. It is funny how the Universe lines us up with whatever we really do need and believe.

It worked because the fruits and herbs really do heal!  So if you have been thinking about a fruit juice fast–and there are many types–why not try a grape juice fast first?

The benefits of grape juice fasting are:

  • Simple way to some weight loss,
  • Antioxidants like resveratrol in large amounts,
  • Cleansing your lymph system where the acids are creating inflammation, (Some people like to add a lot of lemon juice to do even more detoxing, see Grape Juice Fasting with Lemons)
  • Clarity,
  • Focus shifts from eating/drinking for hours a day TO having free time to do other fun things.
  • You are getting the natural electrolytes in the fruit, so it’s safer than water fasting.
  • Since doctors don’t approve of or understand fasting, you can have a detox specialist to help you through it.
  • Detoxing is easy and fun, and when you see results, you will feel inspired to keep going.
  • Some health concerns that may improve are:  blood pressure, cholesterol levels, overall circulatory health, brain and neurological functioning, diabetes, liver and gallbladder functioning, skin health, acne, eczema, psoriasis, reproductive health, bone health, allergies, respiratory health, and especially endocrine health–literally everything.

The drawbacks to a grape juice fast are:

  • You might lose some weight,
  • It only costs a few dollars a day, so you’ll save money,
  • Your friends, family, and coworkers will label you a health nut and bother you with seriously nasty and judgmental comments,
  • Most doctors don’t approve of or understand why you would want to do a fast of any type because they don’t make money on them if you create a better body for yourself, so you may feel isolated without a detox specialist.
  • Becoming an positive and powerful advocate for yourself can be exhausting!
  • Truth be told, you may get headaches and some detox symptoms, but they can be handled rather easily.
  • There may be some folks out there who should not fast, but it’s worth a call in here to find out!

Some people would do better on other types of fasts, and they can all be used on an ongoing basis for overall health and longevity.  See Fasting for more info.

Water Fasting

Water Fasting can be a great way to cleanse the body and help it detox out the acids that are keeping the body sick.  I know it sounds difficult, but it certainly can be done, as seen in religions that require or ask their members to fast.  Some for a portion of the day, and some for many weeks.  There are many types of fasting for you to try, all with benefits.

Just like when we are sick with a cold or flu, and the body involuntarily fasts–because it knows best how to heal, we can make a conscious choice TO FAST.

The benefits of water fasting include better thinking skills, losing weight, and above all–healing many of our body’s issues.  This seems to happen when the kidneys allow the dirty lymph that has been circulating to actually flow out through the urine.  The process is process is called kidney filtration and is an important part of detoxing the body and cleansing the lymph system.

I was heavily influenced by Joel Fuhrman, who is a natural MD in New Jersey, with his book, Fasting and Eating for Health.  He claims he healed himself of an injury from ice skating after water fasting for over 40 days.  When I read this book, with it’s focus on healing injuries, heart disease, stroke, and diabetes I decided I wanted to begin a fasting-regularly-type of lifestyle because of the benefits.

Yet, because I’m a type 1 diabetic, I couldn’t safely fast on only water, as Fuhrman was suggesting most people do in his book.  He actually recommends that type 1 diabetics do not fast.

So, I had to find a better way.  And, I did!

I found about Dr. Morse’s fruit based diet and began eating more fruits and healing teas, and after a while was reintroduced to the Master Cleanse, which uses water, lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne to fast.

There are a few ways to fast of course, so don’t worry–you don’t have to water fast if you don’t wish to.  A grape juice fast can be just as healing as a water fast and safer for some.  But healing can happen faster if you are not focused on digestion (food in the colon), so the energy your body is using can be focused on strengthening cells, tissues, organs, etc. during a fast.

Water fasting can be not only helpful, but healthful, and can be done for a few hours a day to weeks at a time, depending on your condition and desires about detoxing.

It’s actually refreshing to do a few days on a water fast, because the mind becomes so clear without the ups and downs of blood sugars, and the “need” to eat.  There is a clarity like no other while fasting this way.  You will have more time to devote to yourself, more energy possibly, and more aliveness!

The worst part of fasting is working through the emotions–doubts, fears, and worries coming up, and being frustrated with your current health.  The fasting is actually easy.  The mind is what you will need to control!
