Fasting is an important piece of healing the body, yet can be done in many ways, so to please everyone. I loved fasting the first time I tried it, water only fasting for four days. Clear thinking was my favorite part, and not having swings in blood sugars. And there is something amazing that keeps bringing me back to it over decades of my life.
There are short term and long term health benefits of fasting, like the clear thinking and mental stability I just mentioned, but also the actual healing of the body and also the mind. Healing happens best and quickest when digestion ceases, so energy can be focused on healing.
The Dr. Morse fruit based detox diet is certainly my favorite influence and has helped me with healing a few health issues I’ve had, and where I’ve learned so much about each of these fasting techniques.

Some people get good results from eating fruit, veggies, or fasting right away, and for others it takes more time. For instance, you will know your body is cleansing well if you have some kidney filtration. Fasting helps to get it started, and you will know you have kidney filtration if you pee in a glass jar and find tiny white pieces that remind you of a snow globe.

Grape Juice Fasting helps the body because one food at a time is easier for the body to digest, absorb, and utilize. Grapes are a sub-acid fruit so they help to pull acid from the body. Fruit sugar is also an easy form of energy for your body to use and requires little work for the body.
Grape Juice With Lemon Fasting is the same as grape juice fasting but also includes lemons, which are even more astringent and pull more acid from the body.
The Master Cleanse by Stanley Burroughs, is the water fast using water, lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne.
Dry Fasting is taking no water or food for a set period of time, usually short periods like 12, 24, or 36 hours only. If you have had no, little, or some kidney filtration, or if you suspect only one of your kidneys is filtering,then dry fasting may be a good option for you. It’s a good lymph cleanser, and you should notice more filtration after you dry fast.
Fruit juice fasting is relatively easy, and can be done using a variety of fruit juices, such as grape, orange, grapefruit, cranberry, pomegranate, lemon, blueberry, melon. It’s a matter of finding a few that you like and sticking with it for a few days or weeks at a time.
Intermittent fasting is helpful because you get some of the benefits of fasting for a portion of the day, such as breakfast and lunch, and then you can eat or drink for dinner.
Water Fasting is hard core fasting! It is truly for the select few, and definitely helpful in some situations.
Herbs for Fasting are important because every person has specific reasons to fast, and herbs can help. Like if your liver is sluggish, you can incorporate herbs for liver function like milk thistle.
